House rules and safety

A few rules that keep the house great for everyone, and who to call if you need help.

House rules

  • Up to 13 guests.
  • Up to 2 pets, with a pet fee.
  • No fireworks. Fireworks on the property mean losing your security deposit, a $1,000 charge and leaving right away. No exceptions.
  • No glitter, confetti or silly string, especially around the hot tub.
  • Please don't use the white towels for self-tanner, sunscreen or makeup.

Trash and recycling

  • Garbage goes in the green bins. Pickup is Monday and Thursday, so roll them out Sunday and Wednesday night.
  • Recycling goes in the blue bin. Pickup is Monday, so roll it out Sunday night.
  • Bins go at the end of the driveway, on the right side by the post. Please bring them back the next day.

We'll send a reminder the night before.

If the power goes out

If part of the house loses power, text us before you reset anything at the breaker panel. We'll walk you through it.

Emergencies

For a fire, medical emergency or immediate danger, call 911 first. Once everyone is safe, let us know.

  • The Outer Banks Hospital in Nags Head has a 24-hour emergency room, a few minutes away.
  • Urgent care clinics are in Kill Devil Hills for smaller things.
  • CVS and Walgreens are on the bypass in Nags Head and Kill Devil Hills.

Hurricane season

Hurricane season peaks August through October. Watch the forecast before you travel. If an evacuation order affects your stay, we'll contact you directly.
