  • About 8 beach chairs and umbrellas
  • A beach wagon and beach toys
  • 5 bikes, on the bike stand out back
  • Cornhole for the yard

Please rinse the sand off everything and put it back in the outside storage area.

Know before you swim

  • Rip currents are the real risk here. Swim near a lifeguard, read the flags, and if you're pulled out, float and swim parallel to shore.
  • Nags Head clears the beach at 7:00 PM. Chairs, tents and umbrellas left out overnight are removed.
  • Sea turtles nest May through August. Lights off on the decks after dark, fill in holes and knock down sandcastles before you leave.
  • Beach driving is allowed October 1 to April 30 with a town permit. Beach fires need a permit too.

Close by

Jennette's Pier and Jockey's Ridge, the tallest natural sand dune on the East Coast, are both a few minutes away. Go to the dune in the last hour before sunset.
